Baahubali: Before the Beginning: Finally The Prequel In Pre-Production Stage

Baahubali is coming back. Yes folks, you heard it right. The emperor of Mahishmati is again coming to us with something extremely massive.

Yes, Baahubali: Before the Beginning which will serve as the prequel series of the S S Rajamouli magnum opus, was announced in 2018 but now it is confirmed that Netflix has already the pre-production work for the same. The series will be based on Anand Neelakantan’s 2017 and 2020 novels The Rise of Sivagami, Chaturanga and Queen of Mahishmathi, which will follow the journey of Sivagami, grandmother of Bahubali and her rise to power in the Mahishmati kingdom.

We have also learnt that Emraan Hashmi’s blockbuster Jannat’s director Kunal Deshmukh and Parineeti Chopra’s 2021 Netflix thriller The Girl on the Train’s director Ribhu Dasgupta will be responsible for directing the series. If we talk about the cast, it was already established that Punjabi actress Wamiqa Gabbi will be portraying Sivagami along with Rahul Bose, Atul Kulkarni and Siddharth Arora will be portraying different roles. The series will be produced by S. S. Rajamouli and Prasad Devineni.

Now, as it’s been almost 3 years from the announcement of the series, it was really hard for the fans to wait for so long but as we have the news of the pre-production, it really feels like we are inching closer to this massive upcoming series and we can certainly expect the same amount of excitement around Baahubali: Before the Beginning which was there for Bahubali 1 and 2 few years back.
