I’m sure we’ve all thought about being Batman or Spiderman. A normal person who turns into a superhero. Yet, the faces behind these masks have almost always been foreign, with Indian superheroes being a rare sight.
Growing up, it was ever so rare that a child would pick Shaktiman over Batman.
India has always had a deficiency of relatable, enduring superheroes who could be looked up to.
Bollywood tried its hand at creating superheroes like Krishh and G.One, but none of them stuck like those created by Marvel and DC.
The Malayalam Industry gave us another superhero, Minnal Murali, who was loved by the audience because of his rooted character.
Now, the Kannada film industry is stepping into the superhero game with Bagheera- a darker, more intense hero.
While Bagheera releases on Netflix, fans notice that there’s no Hindi dub available. Currently, the film is only set to stream in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam audio.
For a film like this, which has the potential to captivate audiences nationwide, not offering a Hindi dub feels like a missed opportunity. If Bagheera aims to break out of regional confines and appeal to a bigger audience, a Hindi dub could be the bridge it needs to win over the hearts of fans across the country.
