The year 2021 had seen some exciting theatrical releases of Hollywood films such as ‘Shang Chi’, ‘No Time to Die’, ‘F9’, ‘Black Widow’, and ‘Godzilla vs Kong’, to name a few. But the movie that broke all records and became the highest-grossing film of 2021 was none other than ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’, which is still ruling the roost.
That was 2021 for you. And now, with just a few days left for 2022’s arrival, popular ticketing website Fandango had conducted a fan survey, with more than 6000 moviegoers, on the most anticipated movies slated to release in the year 2022. As per the survey, the highly anticipated ‘Black Panther’ sequel titled ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ has been topped the coveted list and is followed by ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (Part One)’, ‘The Batman’, ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’, and ‘Jurassic World: Dominion’ being the next four on the list.
By doing that, ‘Black Panther 2’ has also surpassed some other premium titles such as ‘Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’, ‘Avatar 2’, ‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom’, ‘Top Gun: Maverick’, and ‘Mission: Impossible 7’, which comprise the remaining five most anticipated titles for 2022.
The surefire blockbuster superhero film ‘Black Panther 2’ has recently also been in the news regarding a petition to re-cast for the role of Wakanda’s defender T’Challa, a character that was played by the legendary late actor Chadwick Boseman in the first ‘Black Panther’ movie. The change.org petition has acquired a benchmark figure of almost 50000 signatures for the continuation of the portrayal of T’Challa in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
After a production pause, ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ is set to resume filming in late January in Atlanta with an important cast member Letitia Wright, who plays Shuri in the sequel. The highly anticipated film ‘Black Panther 2’ is slated for a grand theatrical release on 11th November 2022.
