Now that is what is already looking like a great film- a Steven Spielberg directorial starring 9-time Oscar nominee Bradley Cooper. Both critically acclaimed and commercially successful Hollywood stars, the collaboration will be one to look out for. While not much has been revealed, the movie will see Cooper playing the role of a no-nonsense cop.
The movie, still in development, will be based on the character Frank Bullitt from the 1968 American action thriller film ‘Bullitt’. It is being reported that the movie is not a remake, but an original story based on the same character. In the original film, Frank Bullitt played by Steve McQueen is a no-nonsense San Francisco cop on the hunt for the mob kingpin that killed his witness. The movie will be co-produced by Spielberg and Cooper, and will be written by Josh Singer known for 2015’s biographical film ‘Spotlight’.
While Spielberg and Cooper had tried to collaborate as director-actor many times before in films like ‘American Sniper’ and ‘Maestro’, it didn’t come about. It is to be noted that Netflix’s upcoming film Maestro’ directed and starring Cooper is being produced by Spielberg.
Cooper will be next seen in Marvel’s ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’, one of the most anticipated films of 2023. He will be seen voicing the funky fan-favorite Rocket the raccoon. The movie, as of now, is slated for a May 5, 2023 release. Spielberg as per reports will be producing the fifth installment of the ‘Indiana Jones’ franchise. Under the production company’s recent deal with Netflix, it is reported that he will also produce at least two feature films a year for the streamer.
