In a recent survey by OnBuy, an online UK marketplace, more than 1,00,000 people search for Netflix’s Top 10 shows’ locations every month. Out of the trending list, the no. 1 show that people looked for is ‘Stranger Things’ which was primarily filmed in Atlanta, Georgia. The show has been filmed in Madrid, Spain and the ‘Royal Mint of Spain’ shown in the series is actually the Natural Research Council building’s exteriors.
Other historical shows like ‘Outlander’, ‘Game of Thrones’ and ‘The Crown’ among others have always been a major attraction for tourists in their respective filming countries as fans want to see the castles, palaces and any other significant place featured in the show. These TV shows give a huge boost to the tourism revenue of their country and are a driving force for people to visit places that they otherwise would’ve not known about.
