Salman Khan is Bollywood’s most in demand actor. A creator can rest assured if they have Salman Khan onboard the project, because one can see that the movie is going to make money like crazy. Salman Khan over the years has proved this with all his movies releasing and making crores of money in the box office. But as any other movie buff, everyone will agree that Salman Khan has been doing roles that are almost similar to one another with few exceptions here and there.
Now news is abuzz that Salman Khan might be the one leading the show when it comes to Hindi remake of the Tamil superhit “Master”, which released earlier this and is considered one of the best hits of the Southern Film Industry this year, since it was released in a time, the movie business was struggling after the 2020 break of Covid-19, but the movie helped in reviving in every way possible.
So, it was after the release of the original movie that the remake of the hindi version was making rounds. The buzz was really strong that Salman Khan is the one who has been approached for the role of JD Master, who is originally played by Thalapathy Vijay in the Tamil original. The movie apparently is being produced by Kabir Singh, Murad and Endemol Shine will be coming together to make the film.
There’s news that Salman on the other hand is waiting for the team down South to help them out with the scripts, so that it can be tweaked for audiences that love Bollywood. People are expecting an official announcement from Khan, which many are mentioning might come somewhere around July. While Salman is almost sure to play the role of JD, the search for the antagonist is still underway. In the original movie Vijay Sethupathi played the antagonist opposite Vijay.
So, now coming to the point of Salman Khan featuring in the Hindi remake of Tamil superhit, it for sure can happen. Salman is a big star in Bollywood and he definitely can fill up those shoes, but the question is will the story of the movie be put in a way that appeals to people? Because as we have all seen, Salman is good at everything but with his last few movies he has been only able to show only the rowdy side of his, with just actions. But “Master”, which has been loved everywhere, can help a completely different persona of his.
His movies now lack stories and all of them somehow are based around the same thing no matter how much tweaks are done. The only reason his movies are doing extremely well is because he has an extremely dedicated fan base, who is eager to watch anything that has Salman in it. This is how the movies are able to earn crores and of course, if one’s measuring the money the movies are earning, these are definitely superhits.
Salman Khan has been in the industry for a long, long time and many of us have watched him while we grew up. He still has the potential of creating magic on screen but like someone says he is in a dire need of a good story. Again, like we mentioned, no hate on Salman Khan, that man definitely knows the game so yes, if he agrees to go ahead with a story like Vijay’s “Master”, we think this can become his saving grace in proving his excellence in the industry.
But, the story definitely needs help from the Southern team, because if not then the ones in Bollywood might tweak it to such a level that it can turn into another of his “bhai”, which by now we have had enough. Salman Khan’s most recent “Radhe” is one such example, definitely did wonders even after releasing in a hybrid method, but received one of the lowest ratings ever from the rating parties.
Besides the potential remake of “Master”, Salman Khan is also on its way with few more movies like Maneesh Sharma’s Tiger 3, Sajid Nadiadwala’s “Kick 2” and Farhad Samji’s “Kabhie Eid, Kabhie Diwali”, along with Mahesh Manjrekar’s “Antim” and also a Sooraj Barjatya untitled movie. He is slated to feature in 6 big budget movies by 2022.
