Netflix‘s upcoming suspense thriller ‘Aranyak‘ has caught the attention of digital viewers. The series marks the return to acting of 90s star, Raveena Tandon. The trailer promises an atmospheric suspense mystery, set as it is in the backdrop of deep forests and misty hills. A teenaged foreign tourist disappears in an isolated hill town, and local cop Kasturi Dogra (Raveena Tandon) is put on the investigation of the disappearance. City-bred cop Angad (Parambrata Chatterjee) is assigned to assist her in the investigation. Things get murkier with murders and myths of a blood-thirsty supernatural creature on the prowl.
‘Aranyak’ means forest or a forest-dweller in Hindi – an apt title for the show where all the action happens in the midst of eerie forests.
Aranyak is produced by Roy Kapur Films and Ramesh Sippy Entertainment, helmed by Rohan Sippy as the showrunner, and directed by Vinay Waikul. Waikul has earlier directed well-received shows such as The Test Case and Mission Over Mars.
Aranyak stars Raveena Tandon, Parambrata Chatterjee, Ashutosh Rana, Meghna Malik, Zakir Hussain, and Indraneil Sengupta in pivotal roles. The series premieres on Netflix on December 10.
