David Leitch (Deadpool 2, John Wick) 2017 thriller, ‘Atomic Blonde’ followed an agent at MI6 using her skills to stay alive in an impossible mission, will be back for a second installment. It is based on the graphic novel ‘The Coldest City’ by Antony Johnston and Sam Hart.
It starred ‘Charlize Theron’ as Lorraine Broughton, our heroine, James McAvoy, Toby Jones, Eddie Marsan, Sofia Boutella and John Goodman.
While the original Atomic Blonde was produced by Focus features, the upcoming feature may land at Netflix as they had shown interest in the project this past year.
Charlize Theron in an interview with Total Film said, “We took [AB2] to them and Scott Stuber [Head of Original Films at Netflix was really interested in it. We talked to him about it extensively, and we’re in the process of writing it right now. In regards to what direction the sequel may be headed in, Theron added, “That character was set up in a way where she didn’t really reveal much of herself. So I feel like there’s a lot of potential there. The bar’s pretty high, but we’re excited about it.”
In an interview with Daily, Theron hinted that she would love a John Wick crossover with Lorraine. Honestly, we would too.
The slick, stylish, dangerous and action packed ‘Atomic Blonde’ was a hit with the audiences so we cannot wait to see how the sequel would take it to the next level. There have been no updates except that the writing is in progress for ‘Atomic Blonde 2’.
You can now watch ‘Atomic Blonde’ streaming on YouTube and Google Play.
