Netflix is all set to renew the Mexican erotic thriller series Dark Desire (Oscuro Deseo) for a brand new second season. The announcement came through a video on Netflix’s Latin American YouTube channel featuring Maite Perroni and Erik Hayser.
Dark Desire is the story of a prestigious lawyer and college professor, Alma Solares (Maite Perroni), who while on a weekend getaway gets involved with a much younger man Dario Guerra (Alejandro Speitzer). She returns thinking of forgetting it all but things take a drastic turn and her life becomes a living hell. A minor adventure turns into an incendiary passion and ultimately into a dangerous obsession.
This erotic thriller garnered many headlines and made its place in Netflix’s top 10 list in 77 countries around the world. Netflix claims that Dark Desire was viewed by 35 million households across the globe in the first 28 days of its release. This makes it the ‘hottest first season’ of a non English-language series on Netflix to date.
Netflix has not revealed anything specific regarding this new season of Dark Desire as to when the production will begin or by when the series could make it to the platform. Keep a check on this space for further details.
