The coming Friday will decide the future course of action of the Telugu film industry. The theatrical business which was on a high after the first wave is struggling after the second wave. None of the Telugu releases released after the second wave has posted big numbers. As a result, many star heroes who have finished the shooting of their films are playing a waiting game hoping for better days to come.
Amid this confusion, a reasonably big film – Naga Chaitanya‘s Love Story is daring and is coming to the box office on the 24th of this month. The entire industry will keenly observe the theatrical run of Love Story. If the movie can bring the youth and families to the theaters, biggies will finish their waiting game and queue up for release. The Box Office result of the movie is going to be a deciding factor for many films to see if they can release in theaters or taking the offers from the OTT players.
We have seen two notable films – Nani’s Tuck Jagadish and Nithin’s Maestro releasing directly on OTT this month. A couple of small films are also arriving on OTT. But there are many producers who are sitting on the fence. The OTT players will be keenly observing the proceedings to fish in the troubled waters if the movie fails.
