We, at Binged, had earlier revealed to our readers that celebrated filmmaker David Fincher has an intriguing project coming up on Netflix. Titled ‘Voir‘, David Fincher‘s new Netflix show is an anthology series of visual essays celebrating cinema. We’re glad to inform you that ‘Voir’ has a release date on Netflix. The show will premiere on Netflix on 6th December, 2021.
‘Voir’ is a French word meaning ‘to see’ or ‘to behold’. Aptly named, as through the series, David Fincher wants us to behold the nuances of cinema in his new documentary series. David Fincher is executive producing ‘Voir’, along with ‘The Empty Man’ director David Prior. ‘Voir’ is a series of 10 to 30-minute essays about “something that intrigues us or upsets us or that has to do with our connection to the movies.”
Here’s the official synopsis of ‘Voir’ from Netflix –
“From executive producers David Fincher and David Prior, VOIR is a series of visual essays celebrating Cinema and the personal connection we each have to the stories we see on the big screen. From intimate personal histories to insights on character and craft, each episode reminds us why Cinema holds a special place in our lives.”
‘Voir’ has been in the works for three years. It first premiered at the AFI Fest in Los Angeles, earlier this month. It is most likely a part of the exclusive four-film deal that David Fincher signed with Netflix earlier this year.
Besides ‘Voir’, David Fincher is directing assassin thriller film ‘The Killer‘ for Netflix, starring Michael Fassbender and Tilda Swinton. He earlier created Netflix’s first ever original series, ‘House Of Cards’, crime investigation thriller ‘Mindhunter’ and Oscar-winner ‘Mank’ for Netflix, besides executive producing a few other projects.
