Tovino Thomas‘ latest film, Dear Friend, has found its release on Netflix. The Malayalam film is set to premiere on the streaming platform on July 10. However, the film will be available only in Malayalam audio.
The film revolves around a group of four close buddies, residing in Bengaluru together. Their bond of friendship is a perfect blend of fun, excitement, and humour. Yes, they fight sometimes but they support each other in difficult times. Vinod (Tovino Thomas), along with his friends Arjun (Arjun Lal), Sajith (Basil Joseph), and Shyam (Arjun Radhakrishnan), is giving everything he has to secure funding for their startup. On the other hand, Jannath (Darshana Rajendran) studies psychology. However, everything turns upside down after Vinod mysteriously disappears from their lives without any trace.
Dear Friend was praised by critics for its interesting premise and fine performances from its cast members. Although, its ending has received a lot of criticism. The film’s plot is loosely based on actor Arjun Lal’s experiences in the city of Bengaluru.
Tovino Thomas’ Dear Friend also has Sanchana Natarajan as Kumudam. The movie is helmed by Ayal Njanalla fame, Vineeth Kumar. Additionally, Justin Varghese and Deepu Joseph handled the composing and editing duties for the film. It was released in theatres on June 10. And now, it will hit Netflix this Sunday.
