Disney+ Hotstar recently has been in the news for creating brand new originals. The streaming platform was already a hit amongst the fans with previous web-series but now with the upcoming ones Hotstar is getting into even more family oriented web-series to give everyone something to watch.
The latest addition to their list of upcoming web-series titled “Crime Next Door”. For the series, the makers have already got on board and assembled an ensemble cast. Anupriya Goenka, Sahil Vaid, Mohan Kapur are already onboard the cast. The news has come up that actor Vatsal Seth and Yashpal Sharma have also been locked for the series.
Actress Deepti Devi, who is a well known face in the Marathi Film industry have also been roped in for the series. She has earlier appeared in films like, “Conditions Apply-Atti Lagu”, “Naal” and “Mantr”. The series is being directed by director Deepankar Prakash, who has earlier directed award winning short films like “Masakkali”, “Kaagpanth”, “Podarok”, and “Naked Voice”.
As per the news and what actress Deepti Devi has mentioned confirming the series, the name has been apparently changed. It was earlier titled Red Chalk, but now will be going with the name “Crime Next Door”. Though, at this moment Red Chalk is the only being used.
The project that is being produced by Neeljai Films and Kara Studios earlier planned for it to be a short film, to be released on the streaming platform. But apparently the officials from Hotstar had shown such keen interest in the show that they now want it to be turned into a web series. This will be the first digital project for the team and the makers.
As of now, nothing new has been confirmed and nothing about the plot has been revealed.
