Great news for fans of the interesting yet underutilized Marvel superhero character ‘She-Hulk’. The casting for villain’s role in the upcoming Disney+ Marvel series ‘She-Hulk’ is said to have been finalized.
English actress Jameela Jamil has reportedly joined the cast of the eagerly anticipated series ‘She-Hulk’. She will purportedly essay the role of the Marvel supervillain Titania. Titania was introduced in the 1984 crossover limited series ‘Secret Wars’. Since then, Titania is considered a formidable adversary of She-Hulk.
Former radio host turned actress Jameela Jamil is known for her role in the fantasy comedy television series ‘The Good Place’. Besides, she has also lent her voice for the popular animated series ‘DuckTales’ and Netflix series ‘Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous’. Last year, the actress also launched her podcast namely ‘I Weigh with Jameela Jamil’.
You might already be aware that ‘She-Hulk’, set in a legal comedy format, is based on the character of a lawyer named Jennifer Walters, who gains superpowers after receiving an emergency blood transfusion from her cousin Bruce Banner.
She eventually becomes an altered version of her male counterpart Hulk. In the original Stan Lee comics, She-Hulk was ostensibly a milder version of Hulk and largely retained her personality, unlike the Hulk shown in the 2012 Avengers film.
Jameela Jamil has joined a cast of talented actors. ‘Orphan Black’ lead actress Tatiana Maslany is essaying the titular role of She-Hulk. Whereas ‘Zodiac’ and ‘Avengers Endgame’ actor Mark Ruffalo will be seen reprising his role of the green giant in the forthcoming series.
Furthermore, ‘Reservoir Dogs’ and ‘Pulp Fiction’ actor Tim Roth will also reprise the role as the dreaded villain ‘The Abomination’ from the 2008 film ‘The Incredible Hulk’, which featured Edward Norton as the titular superhero.
‘She-Hulk‘ series is being directed by former actress and talented filmmaker Kat Coiro alongside Anu Valia. Kat Coiro has previously directed shows including ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’, ‘Shameless’, and ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’.
After the success of MCU shows like ‘The Falcon and The Winter Soldier’, ‘WandaVision’, and the recently released ‘Loki’, fans are now eagerly awaiting the release of the Disney Plus show ‘She-Hulk’. Besides ‘She-Hulk’, other anticipated Marvel shows include ‘What If…?’, ‘Ms. Marvel’, ‘Hawkeye’, ‘Secret Invasion’ and ‘Moon Knight’.
‘She-Hulk’ is expected to release on Disney Plus and Disney Plus Hotstar streaming platform sometime in the year 2022. Variety had first confirmed Jameela Jamil’s casting news.
