Tovino Thomas starrer “Kilometers And Kilometers” was supposed to hit theaters on March 12th of this year but had to be postponed indefinitely due to the Covid-19 threat and the resultant lockdown. The movie is a friendship roadtrip comedy drama which was supposed to have a summer special release.
Now, the latest reports say that the film makers are not going to wait any longer for theaters to open and are planning to release the movie directly through digital format. OTT giants Hotstar+Disney is said to have been bagged the streaming rights for “Kilometers And Kilometers” and is said to be premiering on the platform very soon.
This will mark the movie as the second major Malayalam film to get a direct OTT release after the acclaimed Jayasurya starrer “Sufiyum Sujatayum”. Although there hasn’t been any official announcements from Tovino Thomas, the film makers or the OTT service yet, it still stands a good chance at releasing digitally, due to a previous leak featuring a few film scenes. The filmmakers want to release the film before it is completely leaked online.
“Kilometers And Kilometers” revolves around the quirky bond that occurs between Cathy (played by newcomer India Jarvis), an American traveller and Josemon (played by Tovino Thomas), a Malayali young villager who has to shoulder various responsibilties after his father died. Josemon serves as a guide for Cathy while they travel the country. It is essentially about their journey from Kerala to Khardung La.
“Kilometers And Kilometers” has been written and directed by new comer Jeo Baby. Sinu Sidharth and Sooraj S Kurup are the cinematographer and the music director respectively.
