Disney+Hotstar has announced ‘Special Ops 1.5: The Himmat Story’, a unique addition to the hit Hotstar Special series ‘Special Ops’. This new season which is neither a prequel nor a sequel, will be part of ‘Special Ops Universe’ which will constitute a multi-series franchise.
‘Special Ops 1.5: The Himmat Story’ will tell the back story of RAW agent Himmat Singh (Kay Kay Menon), the main protagonist of the pioneer season of Disney+Hotstar’s ‘Special Ops’. It will feature his formative years since 2001 and capture his interesting history and what all made him the brain behind several operations.

Neeraj Pandey, master of spy-thrillers like ‘A Wednesday’, ‘Special 26’, ‘Baby’, ‘Naam Shabana’, who also created the first season of Disney+Hotstar’s ‘Special Ops’, is once again ready to bring to us another edge-of-the-seat experience with ‘Special Ops 1.5: The Himmat Story’.
As per Pandey, Special Ops Universe will go beyond the regular narratives of linear seasons and conventional storytelling. He further added that this new series will start with Himmat Singh being assigned to another case, but the deflection point is the same parliament attack that started the series of events.
He also said in a statement that the show will have three episodes, each of around one hour duration. Menon while talking about this new season of Special Ops said, “If you thought that you had seen the best of Himmat Singh, you need to wait for ”Special Ops 1.5”. It is a terrific redemption story.”
The release date of Hotstar Special Special Ops 1.5: The Himmat Story’ is still under wraps, but the premise of the show and the success of the first season, will surely make viewers pretty curious for this unique new season.
