Dulquer Salmaan‘s recent theatrical outing Kurup garnered mixed reviews but it managed to put on a great show at the box. The mystery thriller had reportedly grossed over Rs 100 crores at the global box office. Dulquer plays a witty conman in Kurup, which is directed by Srinath Rajendran. Now, Kurup is set to land on OTT.
As per reports, Kurup will be made available for streaming on Netflix from the 15th of this month. Netflix hasn’t yet dropped an official update in this regard but it is all but confirmed that the film will be premiering on the 15th of this month.
Kurup is one of Netflix’s big-money acquisitions in Malayalam cinema and the OTT giant hopes to expand its footprint in the regional market with the Dulquer Salmaan starrer, which in a way, is better suited for the OTT audience.
“Sukumara Kurup – a consummate criminal sets out to find a man of similar appearance to falsify his own death and claim insurance money,” the film’s plot reads. Dulquer’s impeccable performance is said to be one of the main driving forces of Kurup.
The film stars Telugu actress Sobhita Dhulipala, Indrajith Sukumaran, Sunny Wayne, Bharath Srinivasan and others in pivotal roles. It released in theatres on the 12th of November.
