Denis Villeneuve’s Dune is still trending strongly on the internet these days. It’s been more than a month since its release, but the movie somehow keeps discovering new ways to stay in the buzz. The leading star, Timothee Chalamet, has dropped another sensational news for the fans regarding the future of the Dune franchise.
In his recent interview with Deadline, Chalamet hinted at possible sequels of Dune. He believes that Dune’s story is far from finished. Chani, Stilgar, Baron Harkonnen, and many more characters needed more screentime to prove their worth in the movie. Zendaya’s screentime was under 7 minutes in that project. Frank Herbert’s Dune is a vast franchise. And it needs more entries to expand its richness and satisfy its fans.
In addition to that, Zendaya has promised that she will have more screen time in the upcoming Dune: Part Two. Paul’s connection with Chani will help him shape up his future. Additionally, the director has affirmed that the second part will be much bigger than the first one.
The makers confirmed Dune’s second half to be released in 2023. They have not given the exact date of its release. The first instalment has collected more than $365 million globally. Even from the image point of view, these collections are way better than decent as the movie had a simultaneous release in theatres and on HBO Max streaming service.
