A new trailer for the sci-fi drama ‘Poor Things‘ has been released now. The film has a huge star cast with actors like Emma Stone, Willem Dafoe and Mark Ruffalo. The film is directed by Yorgos Lanthimos and will hit the theaters on September 8.
Poor Things tells the story a young girl named Bella who commits suicide and is then turned back to life by a maniac scientist, played by willem Dafoe. The girl’s role is played by Emma Stone. The trailer is both black and white and in color. The black and white part shows the scientist introducing Mr. McCandles to Bella. Mr. McCandles looks like the potential love interest of the girl. Mark Ruffalo plays the role.
The screenplay is written by Tony McNamara and it is adapted from the novel of the same name by Alasdair Gray. The novel came out in 1992. Apart from the three leading actors Stone, Dafoe and Ruffalo there are other actors like Ramy Youssef, Jerrod Carmichael, Christopher Abbott, Margaret Qualley and Kathryn Hunter.
Yorgos Lanthimos is known for films like ‘The Lobster’ and ‘The Favourite’. Poor Things has much similarity to the story of Frankenstein but many comedic elements are added to it. It will be a hilarious dark comedy. The color grading and visuals of the trailer are quite impressive, that is nothing new with Yorgos’ filmography.
Previously a 34 second long teaser of the movie was released and it was appreciated by fans. The upbeat music and wonderful cinematography mesmerized and there were applauses all over the internet. Don’t miss the film when it gets its theatrical release on the 8th of September this year.
