Every month, tons of new titles arrive on Netflix India. The streaming giant commissions titles in every region of the world. When it comes to diversity in regions, languages and cultures in OTT content, Netflix beats every other streaming platform hollow.
Netflix’s penchant for diversity means that it has movies and shows from both ends of the world that is from Mexico in the West, to Japan in the East; from Finland in the North to Argentina in the South.
This month, that is February 2021, we have coming up Pitta Kathalu, the first ever Telugu original from Netflix. It is an anthology film consisting of four short films by four prominent directors of Telugu cinema. Then there’s The Girl On The Train, Netflix’s direct to digital Bollywood acquisition. It is the Indian remake of the US original, with Parineeti Chopra in the lead.
This month, Netflix will also premiere the festival favourite film Eeb Allay Ooo, by Prateek Vats; a long-forgotten Irrfan starrer in Bengali, ‘Doob: No Bed Of Roses’, directed by Bangladeshi director Mostofa Sarwar Farooki; Tom Hanks’ buzzy News Of The World; and more.
Talking of diversity, Netflix has coming up this month a Polish thriller, ‘All My Friends Are Dead’; a Spanish thriller ‘Black Beach’, a Chinese fantasy movie ‘The Yin Yang Master: Dream of Eternity’; a Brazilian drama, Invisible City; a heartwarming Taiwanese movie, ‘Little Big Women’; French drama ‘The Misadventures of Hedi and Cokeman’ ; Swedish thriller ‘Red Dot’; an Indo-Nigerian collaboration called ‘Namaste Wahala‘, and tons more!
