Fahadh Faasil Continues To Bring Us Quality OTT Content With Amazon Prime’s ‘Malik’

The highly anticipated Malayalam gangster flick, ‘Malik’ released on Amazon Prime Video over 24 hours ago and the movie response has been immense. This is not his best movie, but it has been one of his better performances of this year. Upon its release, Fahadh Faasil officially became a part of four direct-to-OTT released Malayalam movies – ‘C U Soon’, ‘Irul’, ‘Joji’ and ‘Malik’, out of which three of them releasing on Amazon Prime Video. With 4 back-to-back movies of Fahadh coming from direct-to-OTT releases, this actor has now become the poster boy for Malayalam OTT films.

Malayalam films couldn’t get any OTT attention a year ago, but Amazon Prime Video’s ‘C U Soon’ made other OTT platforms take notice of Malayalam content. After a couple of other successful Mollywood films, Malayalam movies are now on the radar of most major streaming companies. And it all started with the Fahadh Faasil starring (and the previously mentioned) ‘C U Soon’.

Not counting Netflix’s ‘Irul’ (although his performance in it was not bad exactly), Fahadh Faasil manages to be a part of three quality films. His performance in all three movies was note-worthy and with Malik’s relative success, Fahadh Faasil has now become our first Malayalam OTT superstar (possibly our first South-Indian OTT superstar as well).

The actor has also somehow managed to be Amazon Prime’s “go-to” Malayalam actor, and we wouldn’t be surprised if the OTT platform continues to chase after the actor to release his next film on an OTT as well. Even if this happens (the scenario is unlikely), Fahadh will be the first Indian actor to release three back-to-back films on Amazon Prime Video directly.

For now, check out his film ‘Malik’ which is streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
