Fahadh Fasil much-awaited Malayalam political thriller Malik has dropped its official trailer and the hype is real. Malik is a political action thriller that has Fahadh Fasil, Nimisha Sajayan, Vinay Fort, Jalaja, Joju George, Dileesh Pothan, Indrans, Salim Kumar, Sanal Aman, Dinesh Prabhakar, Parvathy Krishna, Devaki Rajendran, and others in prime roles.
Malik is directed by Mahesh Narayan who is also the writer and editor. Malik is being produced by Anto Joseph. The film revolves around a sensitive subject based on true incidents in the past. Fahadh’s character is based on someone who emerged as a leader in the community and rallied his people to fight for their rights and their land.
Illegal land acquisition has been a recurring problem especially in the coastal areas where minority groups have become easy targets as major players have looked to target them for their greed. Fahad’s character Sulaiman acts as the saviour of the community and brings them all together to fight for their land.
Malik marks Fahadh’s third collaboration with Mahesh Narayan. He also worked with him on ‘Take Off’ which was based on the rescue of Malayali nurses in Iraq and C U Soon which was an experimental film shot during the lockdown and based entirely on a computer screen. Both these projects have a very unique theme at their core. Malik isn’t an exact representation of any single character but tackles a sensitive and relevant issue in today’s day and age.
Fahadh Fasil seems to be growing from strength to strength with releases like Irul and his inclusion in Allu Arjun’s Pushpa reflects his acting abilities. Fahadh Fasil has always impressed us with his versatility and unique roles whether it was Trance, Kumbalangi Nights, Varathan, or others which is why we are super hyped for Malik.
Malik is set to release in theatres on 13th May.
