Bhuj: The Pride Of India holds much allure for OTT viewers and fans of its star, Ajay Devgn. The war drama was acquired by Disney Plus Hotstar last year, as part of a seven-film pickup from Bollywood. Six of those films have already been released on Disney Plus Hotstar. But the last, and most compelling of the lot, Bhuj: The Pride Of India still remains to be released.
However, now we have some very concrete news from reliable sources that Disney Plus Hotstar is planning the Bhuj release date on a very apt date – the Independence Day weekend – that is 15th August 2021. Independence Day falls on Sunday this year. So Disney Plus Hotstar can even opt to release Bhuj on 13th August, to leverage the advantage of the weekend.
Bhuj: has a stellar and interesting cast of Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha, Nora Fatehi, Sharad Kelkar, Ammy Virk, Pranitha Subhash and Ihana Dhillon. Bhuj has been directed by Abhishek Dudhaiya. The movie is set in the backdrop of the 1972 India-Pakistan war. It features the uplifting story of IAF Squadron Leader Vijay Karnik, who was in charge of the Bhuj airport during the war. The IAF officer, along with his team, reconstructed the IAF airbase in the middle of the ongoing war after it was destroyed by Pakistani bombers in the war. The most special element of the endeavour is that 300 local women helped the IAF team to reconstruct the destroyed air-strip, becoming unlikely heroes of the 1971 Indo-Pak war.
Bhuj is an inspiring tale of courage, conviction and grace under fire, with an overwhelming sentiment of patriotism. Bhuj would have been an ideal release for 15th August, Independence Day, and that’s what is Disney Plus Hotstar’s motivation to plan the 15th August weekend as the Bhuj release date.
