Earlier this year, Bollywood stars Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi had announced their next film titled ‘Selfiee’ by posting stylish selfies on their social media platforms. And now, the makers have revealed that the film has commenced its first filming schedule from today. They did so by posting the signature capper board picture. Emraan Hashmi too had posted another selfie, symbolic of the film going on floors.

By now, you might already be in the know that ‘Selfiee’ is a Hindi language remake of the 2019 Malayalam comedy-drama movie ‘Driving Licence’ starring Prithviraj Sukumaran and Suraj Venjaramoodu in the lead roles. The Hindi remake ‘Selfiee’ is being produced by the parent film’s producer Prithviraj Productions jointly with Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions.
In the parent film, Prithviraj Sukumaran essayed the role of a popular movie star named Hareendran, who takes the help of his fan (played by Suraj Venjaramoodu), who is a motor vehicle inspector, to urgently get his license renewed by illicit means. But the goings-on take an interesting turn and soon the two develop a fierce ego-clash and friction between them.
‘Selfiee’ is being helmed by Raj Mehta, whose earlier directorial credits include ‘Good Newws’ (also starring Akshay Kumar) and a short segment of the Netflix anthology ‘Ajeeb Daastaans’.
Selfiee’s current filming schedule is reportedly being done in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. Emraan Hashmi and the film’s lead actress Nushrrat Bharruccha are said to commence filming their respective parts from today while Akshay Kumar is expected to join the cast in a few days.
