While we were all discussing the statistics of corona virus cases and deaths, artists were closely monitoring everything that is happening around to turn it into a web series!
The first ever Indian web series on corona virus pandemic titled ‘The Gone Game’ focuses on a story of a family. It gets to the bottom of the mystery behind a family member’s death and how does the family deal with its consequences. The family’s life turns upside down! Its cast members includes Sanjay Kapoor, Arjun Mathur, Shweta Tripathi Sharma, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Rukhsar Rehman, Lubna Salim, Indraneil Sengupta, and Dibyendu Bhattacharya. The shooting for this upcoming thriller is completely done at the residences of the respective cast members. Actors used to co-ordinate via video calls.
“During our brainstorming sessions, we felt that the story of a family, with all its fault lines and emotions, can be explored. What happens when different members of a family are stuck in different locations because of the lockdown, only to know that one of them has succumbed to covid? The idea is to explore the possibilities of deviant human behaviour, crime and morality during such times,” said producer Sukesh Motwani. “The Gone Game is an original series in every sense. Be it the storyline, the characters, or the overall visual appeal, we have tried to make it authentic while keeping the current lockdown scenario as the backdrop of the show,” said director Nikhil Nagesh Bhat. This Voot Select original is expected to release in August.
