Baahubali director SS Rajamouli‘s RRR has been announced for January 7th, 2022 release as Sankranthi Special. The announcement has come a day after the release date announcement of Alia Bhatt’s Gangubai Kathiawadi on January 6th. Alia Bhatt is also the female lead in RRR.
Even if it is just another female-oriented film, Gangubai Kathiawadi is not going to be an easy roll over. Alia Bhatt and Sanjay Leela Bhansali have their brand value which can easily dent the prospects of RRR in the Multiplexes. Also, the wide release is not possible in the North markets
So, Rajamouli and his team are in talks with Bhansali and the other producers for a possible postponement of RRR. Since Alia Bhatt is the heroine in RRR as well, Rajamouli hopes his request will be considered.
RRR shooting has been completed and the Post-production works are almost done. Only the Malayalam dubbing and some portions of the re-recording are left to be done. Since January 7th is a long way to go,
