Video on Demand (VoD) giant Gravitas Ventures, has bought the North American streaming rights for the teenage horror thriller Shortcut. The Alessio Liguori directed film, Orphan was produced by the Italian production company Minerva Pictures.
The British film which was penned by Daniele Cosci, stars Jack Kane, Zak Sutcliffe, Andrei Claude, Sophie Jane Oliver and Terence Anderson. The film was produced by Simona Ferri, Marco Tempera and Robert Cipullo.
Brett Rogalsky, an exec of Gravitas Ventures and Monica Ciarli from Minerva Pictures International negotiated the streaming deal between the two companies. Rogalsky was quick to express delight when the deal was complete. Having a film like Shortcut will not just enhance the ‘scary’ theater experience but also the digital one as well.
The movie follows a group of teenage classmates who get trapped in a school bus, after a mysterious creature overrun the road. With every passing minute, their chance of survival reduces while under threat from the unknown entity. The film will open all around the world in drive-ins and particular theaters on September 25th. It will be released digitally on VoDs and subscription based platforms on December 22nd.
