One of the most popular K-Dramas of last year, Youth of May is finally coming to Netflix India. The show aired on KBS 2 from May 3, 2021 to June 8,2021 and will stream on Netflix from 20th July. The 12 episode television series was not available for streaming anywhere in India so far except Wavve, an OTT media service not available in India.
This period-historical drama is Written by Lee Kang and directed by Song Min-yeob. Youth of May is set in the year 1980 during the times of Gwanju Uprising. Youth of May follows the love story of medical student Hwang Hee-Tae and nurse Kim Myung-Hee when the country is in political turmoil. The show doesn’t exclusively focus on the uprising, but rather the drama focusses on love, friendships and relationships that would have otherwise flourished if not the uprising up-rooted them.
Youth of May has developed a cult social media following post its release in hardly a year. So Netflix acquiring the show is a happy news for th fans. The ones who already watched the show can now re-watch it as per convenience and the ones who had the kdrama in their watchlist for way too long can now start binge-watching the show.
Youth of May was not a sensational TRP topper in South-Korea when it aired, but the tragic love-story of Hee-Tee and Myung-Hee won hearts and has now transcended into one of the most heart-touching Love-stories to have ever come out from K-drama land. The show will be available on Netflix India from July 20th. Stay tuned for more updates.
