Hoichoi is ready to deliver another entertaining web series in the form of Sundarbaner Vidyasagar. The Bengali streaming platform has dispatched its official trailer. And it has received positive word of mouth so far. Plus, we know about this one’s release date. The upcoming Bengali drama series will start streaming from March 11 via the Hoichoi platform. Here’s what we know so far about that show!
The forthcoming Bengali show has Nagarkirtan fame, Riddhi Sen, and Ushasi Ray as the leading duo. The former will play the character of Kinkar, a not-so-talented boy who gets pressurised by his relatives to find a decent job. On the other hand, Ray will portray a young widow named Parbati. Kinkar is a second-class graduate of Sanskrit Honours. Due to some unknown circumstances, he finds himself living in a town called Kumirkhali in the Sundarban region. The place is famous for having the most number of widows in the entire country. Soon, he becomes a part of a group, dedicated to helping the town’s widows and protecting the mangroves. However, he discovers that some political figures are trying to use this group as a cover-up for a big political fraud. Additionally, they want to transform the town into a Thailand-like place.
We will witness Kinkar trying to fight the corrupt political system of the town and helping the widows there. Plus, he befriends one of the widows named Parbati. His struggle will also jeopardise his bond with Ray’s character.
Riddhi Sen is prominent for being the youngest Indian actor to bag the National Film Award for his sensational performance in Nagarkirtan. The actor’s future projects are Bismillah, Mon Kharap, and Doctor Kaku. Apart from him, we will witness Ushasi Ray as the female lead in the Sundarbaner Vidyasagar series.
