Globally renowned and authoritative movies and shows database portal IMDb has recently revealed a list containing the top ten most popular Indian web series of 2022 released so far this year. The list has apparently been compiled from data pertaining to IMDb fans in India. Here’s the full list of IMDb’s top 10 most popular Indian web series along with their IMDb ratings and OTT platforms.
10. The Fame Game (IMDb rating 7, Streaming on Netflix)
The mystery drama web series features real-life actress Madhuri Dixit as a reel-life superstar Anamika Anand, a mother of two who suddenly disappears leaving no apparent leads. Thereafter, some uncomfortable and unknown truths are revealed during the course of the police investigation. The show also features Sanjay Kapoor and Manav Kaul in important roles.
9. Mai (IMDb rating 7.2, Streaming on Netflix)
The six-part revenge drama revolves around a submissive and mild-mannered middle-class mother (Sakshi Tanwar), who investigates the mysterious death of her mute daughter (Wamiqa Gabbi). While doing that, she accidentally kills a powerful man. Thereafter, she must survive the ruthless world of crime, corruption, and dirty politics in order to find the truth. The show also features Raima Sen, Vivek Mushran, Prashant Narayanan, and Seema Pahwa in important roles.

The sci-fi thriller web series showcases the journey of six different people vying for a whopping prize money of Rs.3 crores by participating in a contest through a social media app called Escaype Live. 6. Yeh Kaali Kaali Aankhein (IMDb rating 7, Streaming on Netflix)
It’s a psychological thriller show that revolves around a small-town man (Tahir Raj Bhasin) with simple ambitions. But his life goes haywire when the daughter (Anchal Singh) of a powerful politician (Saurabh Shukla) falls in love with him and is hellbent on ‘acquiring’ at any cost. His desperate attempt to regain control over his own life and to reunite with his love interest (Shweta Tripathi) forms the show’s underlying story.

Directed by Vipul Amrutlal Shah and Mozez Singh, it’s a medical thriller web series based on the subject of human drug trials related to a heart disease miracle drug. Created by Nikhil Advani, the series showcases the extraordinary lives of two eminent Indian physicists namely Dr. Homi J. Bhabha (played by Jim Sarbh) and Dr. Vikram Sarabhai (played by Ishwak Singh). Dr. Homi J. Bhabha is known as the Father of the Indian nuclear program while Dr. Vikram Sarabhai is globally regarded as the Father of the Indian Space Program.
