Okay, so this is the scenario. Imagine you get an email from a big OTT platform offering to renew your plan with a 50% discount.
Excited, you immediately click on it. But as you’re redirected to the payment page, you see no change in the price. That’s exactly what happened with Prime Video and a few of its users.
On a fine Tuesday morning, one Prime Video customer received an email stating he could renew the yearly plan of ₹1499 at a discounted price of ₹749—50% off.
However, when he tried to renew it, the price reverted to the usual ₹1399, the discounted rate that most customers typically pay.
When the customer reached out to customer service, he was disappointed by their response. They couldn’t resolve the issue, and when he took to X (formerly Twitter), he received a generic reply.
Prime Video later clarified that it was a glitch on their end, which is a bad look for an OTT giant. There’s a possibility this could lead to legal trouble if a large group of people has been affected by the issue.
So, is big drama loading?
