Jensen Ackles to Direct ‘Supernatural’ Co-Star Jared Padalecki

‘Supernatural’ star Jensen Ackles was in the news recently when he announced the filming wrap of his upcoming superhero series ‘The Boys’ Season 3 where he will be seen essaying the role of Soldier Boy character and interestingly the day coincided with the one-year anniversary of the final season of ‘Supernatural’.

And now, Jensen Ackles is all set to reunite with his former on-screen brother from ‘Supernatural’ Jared Padalecki, albeit in a different way. Jensen Ackles will reportedly direct Jared Padalecki in the seventh episode of the forthcoming season of the TV series ‘Walker’ in which the latter essays the titular role of the legendary Texas Ranger Cordell Walker. Although it is not confirmed whether Jensen Ackles would also act in the series. Interestingly, Jared Padalecki, who is also executive producing ‘Walker’, originally wanted Jensen Ackles to star in the series.

‘Walker’ is a reboot of the hit 90s western show ‘Walker, Texas Ranger’ that starred action hero Chuck Norris in the lead role. The show’s opening season premiered in January this year and follows the story of a widowed father of two as he makes an attempt to reconnect with his family in Austin after a yearlong undercover assignment. He also grows suspicious about the circumstances relating to his wife’s death. In India, the first season of ‘Walker’ is currently streaming on the Voot OTT platform.

This is not the first time Jensen Ackles will go behind the camera to direct Jared Padalecki as the former had previously directed six episodes in different seasons of the ‘Supernatural’ series. The show eventually spanned 15 seasons and a whopping 327 episodes. The second season of ‘Walker’ is slated to premiere on 28th October 2021.
