OTT industry has been a blessing for a lot of actors who weren’t getting their due in Cinemas. Actors such as Manoj Bajpai, Jaideep Ahlawat, and many more have tasted legit success in the OTT market and the new entry in this list has been of Jimmy Shergill.
Jimmy Shergill has always been one of the top most underrated actors of Indian cinema and has given top notch performances in A Wednesday and Tanu Weds Manu franchise etc. This year he came up in the OTT market with two shows Ranbaaz Phirse for Zee5 and Your Honor for Sony LIV.
Now it seems that he’ll stay in the market as reported by the online platform ‘Peeping Moon’, Jimmy Shergill is currently working on a thriller movie titled ‘Collar Bomb’ for Disney+ Hotstar. The movie follows Shergill’s character of a glorified cop who gets entangled in a mystery and is forced to commit several crimes against his will before a suicide bomber blows up a school.
The movie is being directed by Dnyanesh Zoting while it has been written by Nikhil Nair (Serious Men). The production houses associated with the project are Yoodlee Films and 3 Earth Entertainment. As reported by Peeping Moon, the movie is currently being shot in Himachal Pradesh and will be wrapped next week.
The title Collar Bomb brings back the chilling memories of US’ high profile The Collar Bomb Case. In 2003, a middle aged Pizza Delivery Man was killer during an extensive and heated crimes of Bank Robbery, where the delivery man went into the bank and took out 8000$ worth of cash and ran away. He soon was caught and restrained in the side walk. He claimed that he had been following a scavenger hunt through a piece of paper that would lead him to the key for the collar bomb which is put in his neck. After waiting for the bomb squad to arrive the bomb eventually exploded killing him in the process.
Disney+ Hotstar’s Collar Bomb also stars Asha Negi and Sparsh Shrivastava as reported by Peeping Moon.
