‘K.G.F.’ Chapter 2 was scheduled for theatrical release today i.e. 16th July but few days back the makers decided to postpone it due to the ongoing pandemic situation. Moreover, no further official date has been set for the much awaited film.
On the other hand, SS Rajamouli’s upcoming tentpole multi-starrer film ‘RRR’ is sticking to the earlier announced 13th October release date. This was further confirmed in the recently launched ‘Roar of RRR – RRR Making’ video. Though we all know that these are uncertain times and things can change anytime depending on the situation.
But if all goes as planned and ‘K.G.F Chapter 2’ goes for a release post ‘RRR’ it will have quite a few benefits for the former. With both the films having a pan India scope, RRR’s release will test the waters of the Indian theatrical market. This becomes more significant in the wake of it being first such mega project to release post second wave of coronavirus.
Chances are that outcomes will be in favour of Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’ starring NTR, Ram Charan, Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt among others. We say so because of the master story-teller’s previous credit of the ‘Baahubali’ franchise and also the star power of the film.
And it will be these very positive results of ‘RRR’ that will boost the anticipation for Yash’s ‘K.G.F. Chapter 2’ in multitudes. The already buzzy south biggie will thus be able to enjoy the spillover advantage of ‘RRR’. But all this will only be possible if the pandemic doesn’t play a spoil sport as it has been doing for the industry until now.
