South Korean crime thriller film ‘The Roundup’ became a legit blockbuster when it released in theatres on May 18, 2022. It became the highest-grossing film post-pandemic in South Korea, and succeeded in bringing back audiences to Korean theatres. For those who don’t know, ‘The Roundup’ is the sequel to the 2017 hit Korean film ‘The Outlaws’.
‘The Outlaws‘ is a favourite with film buffs in India, who’ve been patiently waiting for its sequel ‘The Roundup’ to release on Indian OTT. We’re glad to inform you that your wait for the film is finally over! ‘The Roundup’ arrives on streaming in India from tomorrow, September 16, albeit as pay per view, on the PVOD streaming service, BookMyShow Stream.
‘The Roundup’ is directed by Lee Sang-yong, and features Ma Dong-seok in the lead role. Ma Dong-seok returns to reprise his role of Police Detective Ma Seok-do from the first film. Choi Gwi-hwa also returns as Captain Jeon Il-man. Son Seok-koo plays the antagonist, vicious killer Kang-Hae Sung, in the new movie.
Detective Ma Seok-do and Captain Jeon Il-man travel to Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam, to get hold of a suspect. Instead, they’re caught up in a case involving a spate of brutal murders of Korean tourists in Vietnam, and launch a hunt for the cold-blooded murderer, Kang-Hae Sung. ‘The Roundup’ follows their antics as they set about catching the killer.
