Looop Lapeta was the only release on Netflix amongst the Indian titles last week. The Taapsee Pannu and Tahir Raj Bhasin starrer film was inspired by the German movie Run Lola Run.
A lot of netizens declared their verdict on the film just a few minutes after the release. Needless to say, they didn’t even watch it let alone analyze it.
The biggest reason they thought the film was bad was the remake itself. But actually, even the leading actress of the original movie promoted Looop Lapeta.
But good for the makers, the movie is creating viewership records on Netflix. In just two days for which the record is available, the movie streamed for maximum time in India making it number 1 last week.
But even on global charts, Looop Lapeta managed to find a position on number 4 in the non-English list of films. With views over 24,60,000 hours, the movie garnered appreciable views in spite of a poorly written screenplay in the second half.
What stood out most with the audience was immensely funny dialogues and the vibrant colour palettes.
Long story short, even after trolling and hatred the audience has liked the movie. There was an immense possibility of improvement in the screenplay but the film was entertaining at least for one watch.
