‘Malik’ On Amazon Prime Video: Fahadh Faasil Steals The show Yet Again

‘Malik’ On Amazon Prime Video: Fahadh Faasil Steals The show Yet Again

Fahadh Faasil’s ‘Malik’ trailer is out now and this one looks real lit. Based on true events, the Malayalam political crime drama is getting a direct to digital release on Amazon Prime Video on 15th July, 2021.

The trailer begins with a women’s voice in the background talking about a man who had almost died when he was six years old and how she wished he had actually died back then. In the very next scene there are guns being fired during a police confrontation with two people eventually escaping the scene.

Later, the area is cordoned off by the police but they cannot send much force there without any provocation. A complaint from the area is necessary to take further action. And then enters Sulaiman Malik (Fahadh Faasil) in the scene talking fearlessly about killing Chandran and then chopping and throwing him into the sea. He also challenges rather dares about taking him from amidst the people of Ramadappally.

Next there are people gathered in a mosque where a politician like figure is giving a speech. In the midst we also get a glimpse of Sulaiman’s humanitarian side followed by huge police and military invasion in the area. But Sulaiman is leaving it all in the middle to go for Hajj. But somehow he is seen in a jail offering namaz five times a day, without fail while people are hatching plans to kill him.

It’s only in the next part of Malik’s trailer that we see Fahadh’s full blown character as a community leader who knows how to protect his land and people and also fight against corruption. He is ready to go to any limits for that even if that includes killing someone ruthlessly.

‘Malik’ is written, edited and directed by Mahesh Narayanan (‘C U Soon’). The film stars Fahadh Faasil, Nimisha Sajayan, Vinay Fort, Jalaja, Joju George, Dileesh Pothan, Indrans, Salim Kumar, Sanal Aman, Dinesh Prabhakar, Parvathy Krishna, Devaki Rajendran, Divya Prabha, Rajesh Sharma, Appaji Sarath, Sudhi Koppa and Asif Yogi.

Anto Joseph has produced the film under the banner of Anto Joseph Film Company. ‘Malik’ follows the life of Sulaiman Malik and how he rises to become the leader of a particular community while fighting against political corruption. The film is said to be based on the real incidents of increased acquisition of lands especially the coastal ones.

The trailer released by Amazon Prime Video shows how epic the film is going to be. Needless to say that apart from a solid storyline, it’s Fahadh Faasil who is stealing the show once again with his brilliant acting prowess.

‘Malik’ marks Faasil’s fourth film to get a digital release following ‘C U Soon’ (Amazon Prime Video), ‘Irul’ (Netflix) and ‘Joji’ (Amazon Prime Video). But as said in one of his previous statements, unlike his recent OTT releases which were planned for home viewing right form the beginning, ‘Malik’ was designed for a theatrical experience and it was the only film he had ready when theatres would open to 100%. Given the unprecedented COVID-19 situation in the country, everyone associated with the film ultimately decided to take the digital route.

‘Malik’ will premiere worldwide only on Amazon Prime Video on 15th July , 2021.
