After the streaming success of MCU Phase-4’s Disney Plus series such as ‘WandaVision’, ‘Loki’, ‘Moon Knight’, and ‘Ms. Marvel’, all eyes are now on Marvel’s upcoming shows and that certainly includes the ‘Ironheart’ series as well.
Regarding ‘Ironheart’, it’s a well-known fact that the ‘Judas and the Black Messiah’ actress Dominique Thorne will star in the titular role of Ironheart / Riri Williams. And in the latest casting update, Alden Ehrenreich, who had essayed the role of Han Solo in Ron Howard’s space Western film ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’, has been cast in an important but undisclosed role in the ‘Ironheart’ series.
Alden Ehrenreich is an immensely talented yet underrated performer who had previously lent his acting skills for Francis Ford Coppola’s ‘Tetro’ and ‘Twixt’, Woody Allen’s ‘Blue Jasmine’, Coen Brothers’ ‘Hail Caesar!’, and in shows like ‘Supernatural’ and ‘CSI’. He would next be seen in Elizabeth Banks’ thriller ‘Cocaine Bear’ and then in Christopher Nolan’s star-studded venture ‘Oppenheimer’.
‘Ironheart’ series has been set in a 6-episodes format and is being directed by Sam Bailey and Angela Barnes (three episodes each). While nothing much is known about the show’s precise plot details, the show’s central character is Riri Williams, who was created for the ‘Invincible Iron Man’ comic book. The character was shown to be a fifteen-year-old MIT whiz kid who is able to reverse engineer Ironman’s armored suit to create her own version of the suit. She later assumes the name of ‘Ironheart’ to become a superhero. The show’s filming commenced earlier this year in May and is expected to conclude by the month of October.
