Applause Entertainment, the digital content creation company of the Aditya Birla Group, is coming up with a web series on the biggest stock market scam in India, the stock market scam of 1992, orchestrated by Big Bull Harshad Mehta.
The web series is called Scam 1992 – The Harshad Mehta Story. It is based on Sucheta Dalal and Debashis Basu’s tell-all book, The Scam.
Applause today shared character introduction posts for the web series on its official Twitter account, revealing the looks of the primary characters of the show, played by an eclectic ensemble cast.
Gujarati actor Pratik Gandhi looks perfect in the role of Big Bull Harshad Mehta, the man at the centre of the scam. Shreya Dhanwanthary plays feisty journalist Sucheta Dalal, who was the one to bust details about the scam back in 1992. She dug deep into the murky case to get hold of actual facts and details, which she put together in her meticulous book.
A host of other prominent characters were also introduced by Applause, played by actors such as Rajat Kapoor, Anant Mahadevan, K K Raina, and Lalit Parimoo
The web series has been directed by well-known director, Hansal Mehta, recipient of the National Award, and prolific creator of thoughtful cinema.
Scam 1992 hasn’t got a release date yet. Applause hasn’t even announced the name of the OTT platform where the series will stream.
