Former American professional boxer Mike Tyson is making his debut in Indian cinema with ‘Liger‘ starring Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday in the leading roles. Directed by ace Telugu director Puri Jagannadh, the shooting and the post-production of the project is currently underway.
Deverakonda is reportedly playing a kickboxer with a stutter in this highly anticipated movie. He got training in martial arts in Thailand for this role. Vishnu Sarma is behind the cinematography, while Kecha from Thailand is the stunt director.
Sequences starring Mike Tyson were filmed in USA with Vijay Deverakonda and others taking part alongside him under Golden Globes. However recently he finished dubbing for the film. “Thank you very much for being kind to me. I’m very grateful,” said Mike Tyson in a video shared by Dharma Productions on Twitter.
This movie also marks the first pan-Indian film of Vijay Deverakonda. Seeing both these stars together will be a big treat to the fans. The rest of the ensemble cast feature talented actors like Ronit Roy, Ramya Krishna, Ali Bhasha, and Makrand Deshpande.
Produced by Puri Jagannadh, Charmme Kaur, Karan Johar and Apoorva Mehta, this movie is set up on a lavish budget.
The action-sports drama will be released in five languages- Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam languages and will be released in theatres globally on 25th August 2022.
