Netflix has been known to bring many bestselling novels to life, transforming them into some of the most loved series and movies for the streaming platform. The next novel Netflix will be adapting is Jessica Knoll’s debut novel, “The Luckiest Girl Alive”. The book follows the journey of a sought after professional Ani Fanelli and the role for the lead character has gone to none other than the beautiful Mila Kunis.
The novel is reportedly being made into a movie. The story shows the life of Ani Fanelli who happens to have a glamorous and a high profile job, as she works for a famous magazine. Her life seems to the idle life that a successful girl would want. With a good job, sorted out Ani seems to be living her life. But, things are not always what they seem to be.
Her life turns upside down, as a true crime documentary maker sets foot in her life, regarding a crime that takes place in the prestigious Bradley School. As that is bought up more and more, people will notice what dark secrets Ani has been holding from her past that will change people’s perception of her life.
The novel when it released back in 2015 went on to become the New York Time Bestselling novel. Author Jessica Knoll has also been awarded for bringing forward a powerful novel for her debut. She will be taking part in the film as the screenplay writer as well as executive producing it. Director Mike Barker is set to direct the movie, who earlier has been credited with directing hit TV series like, “The Handmaid’s Tale” and “Fargo” among others.
The novel while being reviewed by the critics has been compared to novels like the “Gone Girl” and “The Girl On The Train”, both of which have been turned into massively successful movies. This is the first project that Mila has taken up after almost a year of being off the camera and films.
