MX Player’s edgy Marathi drama, Samantar, caught the imagination of Indian viewers, hungry as they are for good content. Replete with supernatural and fantastical elements to the storyline, the dark, gripping and atmospheric season 1 of the series was appreciated by most viewers and critics. Samantar Season 1 had a distinctly unique plot – something very few shows can boast of. Fans of the show and its lead actor Swapnil Joshi were therefore delighted when the show was renewed for Season 2.
Now, readers will be glad to know that Samantar Season 2 is all ready for release. And the Samantar Season 2 release date is as soon as….this month! Yes, Samantar Season 2 releases on MX Player on 24th June.
MXPlayer‘s Samantar is edgy, dark and foreboding. It features Swwapnil Joshi as Kumar Mahajan, a common man, who is at his wit’s end due to persistent failures in his life. He consults a swami for his troubles, who tells him that his future is exactly the same as the past of a man named Sudarshan Chakrapani. Whatever is happening with Kumar now has already occurred with Sudarshan Chakrapani in the past. In fact, the Swami informs Kumar that even the destiny lines on his palm are exactly the same as those on Sudarshan Chakrapani’s palm.
Beset by troubles, both financial and marital, Kumar sets out to find the man called Sudarshan Chakrapani. The swami warns him against doing so. But the question is does such a man exist? Or has Kumar set out on a wild goose chase? But slowly, Kumar finds that his and the mysterious man’s destinies start intertwining. Will he succeed in finding the man? Samantar is a gripping and thought-provoking show, and its cliffhanger ending has left everyone wanting Samantar Season 2 to come around quickly.
Samantar Season 2 also stars Swwapnil Joshi and Tejaswini Pandit, as in Season 1. It is directed by Satish Rajwade, out of a script adapted from the book of the same name, written by Suhas Shirwalkar.
