The beloved Malayalam actor, Nedumudi Venu, passed away last year in October (if you hadn’t already heard). This brilliant actor had an illustrious career – he had a fifty-year acting career with over 500 films and TV series under his belt. He has also released multiple films in various languages such as Malayalam, Tamil, English and Sanskrit. The actor always did multiple projects in a year and upon his death, it was discovered that he had 10 projects waiting to be released. The only project (out of the 10) that has been released so far, is the Mohanlal starring historical epic, Marakkar: Lion of The Arabian Sea. Now, fittingly, his next posthumous release will be the Mammootty starter, Bheeshma Parvam.
Similar to most films that are made post-pandemic, the release of this upcoming Malayalam feature was postponed multiple times, once in October, before Nedumudi Venu’s death and once in December – both due to shooting and Covid-19 problems. While it is unfortunate that the late actor will not be able to watch these films himself, he did manage to leave a lot of his creative work left for us to see. This includes his role as Muthu Krishnaswamy from the Kamal Hassan starring political thriller, Indian which will make an appearance in the upcoming sequel, Indian 2.
Nedumudi Venu has acted with multiple Malayalam stars over the years. It is fitting, however, his first two posthumously released projects will feature Mollywood biggest two actors, Mohanlal and Mammootty. The Mammootty starrer, Bheeshma Parvam, drops in theatres by the end of this month, so we expect the film producers to drop a trailer soon. And hopefully, we will get a glimpse at Venu before the film’s release.
The aforementioned Bheeshma Parvam will premiere in theatres on February 24th 2022.
