This morning, streaming giant Netflix announced the premiere date of its next Indian Original movie Mrs. Serial Killer, which will finally drop on the streaming platform on 1st May. The movie stars Bollywood actors Jacqueline Fernandez, Manoj Bajpayee and Mohit Raina as leads. It is produced by filmmaker Farah Khan and directed by Shirish Kunder, better half of Khan.
The announcement was made with a cute little video that featured Jacqueline Fernandez and Manoj Bajpayee exchanging cute banter via a video-chatting app. The video has obviously been shot amidst the ongoing Coronavirus lockdown, which explains the amateurish nature of the video and the video-chatting sequence.
Mrs. Serial Killer has Jacqueline portraying the wife of a doctor who has been jailed for a series of killings by a maniacal serial killer. The only way before her to prove her husband’s innocence is for her to carry out a copycat murder whilst he is in jail, which will prove beyond doubt that he is not the one behind the serial murders.
It is an intriguing premise, and should make for thrilling viewing. This is Manoj Bajpayee’s first project with Netflix. He’s had a massive hit with Amazon Prime Video in the espionage series, The Family Man.
