‘Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story‘ was released on Netflix on September 21, 2022, amidst much anticipation from the audience. Although other movies and series have been made over the years on the infamous serial killer, the topic is still as captivating and the limited series’ trailer was well received, with Evan Peters’ (X-Men: Days Of Future Past) performance increasing the buzz on the series.
With the series now released and getting critical appreciation, it is to be noted that Netflix is not over with Jeffrey Dahmer just yet. The OTT platform now seems to want to continue exploring Jeffrey Dahmer and has another content on the same to be released in 2 weeks. Netflix will be releasing a limited docu-series related to Dahmer titled ‘Conversations with a killer: The Jeffrey Dahmer Tapes’. The series will be the next in Netflix’s ‘Conversations with a Killer’ franchise and releasing it so adjacent is no mistake but to make use of the buzz the first one has generated.
While ‘Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story’ is not a pure documentary as such, the upcoming ‘Conversations with a killer: The Jeffrey Dahmer Tapes’ is a docu-series that will show Jeffrey Dahmer himself in unguarded interviews. He will be seen confessing to all the gruesome crimes he has committed and is expected to give a closer view into his disturbed mind.
For those unversed Jeffrey Dahmer was an infamous serial killer who was responsible for the murder of 17 men and boys between 1978 and 1991 and he died in 1994 after he was attacked by a fellow prison inmate. One of the most known serial killers in the US, those present in court during his trial described their experience as “sheer terror.”
Netflix is slowly creating a niche in the genre of true crime documentaries among its competitors. Now with the buzz even more after the success of ‘Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story’, the series will release on October 7, 2022.
