Netflix India’s Top 10 Films & Series to Watch in the 11th April Week

For Netflix India’s top ten films list, the top-ranked title has been bagged by Abhishek Bachchan starrer social comedy-drama movie ‘Dasvi’. While on the second, third, and the fourth spots on the Netflix top ten films list are multiple language versions of Suriya’s action thriller movie ‘Etharkkum Thunindhavan’.

On the Netflix top ten TV shows front, this week’s top spot is held by the period drama series ‘Bridgerton’. While the second and third spots have been bagged by the Spanish drama-thriller ‘Elite’ and the South Korean show ‘Business Proposal’.

TOP 10 MOVIES ON NETFLIX INDIA THIS WEEK

10. 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi

Based on Mitchell Zuckoff’s book of the same name and helmed by blockbuster filmmaker Michael Bay, the war actioner is set in 2012 Libya. When the US diplomat compound in Benghazi is attacked by heavily armed militants, six members of an elite team of former soldiers must protect the CIA personnel stationed inside the consulate.

9. Cobalt Blue

Based on the 2013 novel of the same name by Sachin Kundalkar, the film adaptation revolves around a brother-sister duo (played by Neelay Mehendale and Anjali Sivaraman) who both fall in love with their charming paying guest (Prateik Babbar), thereby creating ripples in their orthodox Marathi family.

8. Hey Sinamika

A weather scientist Mouna (Aditi Rao Hydari) and a loving man Yaazhan (Dulquer Salmaan) are madly in love with each other and soon get married. But a couple of years later, Mouna feels annoyed with her talkative husband. She decides to hitch him with another woman Dr. Malarvizhi (Kajal Aggarwal) for a divorce. But the goings-on take an interesting turn when the doctor actually falls for Yaazhan.

7. Badhaai Do

Helmed by Harshvardhan Kulkarni, the comedy-drama film revolves around a policeman Shardul Thakur (Rajkummar Rao), and a physical education teacher Sumi Singh (Bhumi Pednekar), and their marriage of convenience to hide their sexual orientation. But things do not go as smoothly as they had expected.

6. The In Between

The science-fiction romantic movie follows the female teenage protagonist who begins to feel that she is somehow being contacted by her deceased lover, who had died in a car accident which she had survived.

5. 83

The film is about the Indian cricket team’s historic victory at the 1983 cricket world cup. Ranveer Singh essays the role of the Indian cricket team’s legendary captain Kapil Dev, and the film portrays his and his teammates’ incredible journey from being an underdog team to lifting the world cup by beating the formidable West Indians at the Lords Cricket Ground on 25th June 1983.

4. Etharkkum Thunindhavan (Telugu)

Written and directed by Pandiraj, ‘Etharkkum Thunindhavan’ is an action thriller movie that revolves around the story of a High Court lawyer Kannabiran (played by Suriya). He is forced to go beyond the law after he loses a legal battle against a criminal mastermind Inba. Thereafter, the lawyer becomes the judge, jury, and executioner to deliver justice in his own way.

1. Dasvi

Helmed by Tushar Jalota in his directorial debut, the social comedy-drama film features Abhishek Bachchan in the role of powerful Jaat politician Gangaram Chaudhary. He is sent behind bars for an alleged teacher recruitment scam and makes his wife (Nimrat Kaur) the new CM. In jail, he has an ego clash with the upright jailor (Yami Gautam). Now the eighth pass politician must prove his mettle and pass the tenth-class exam while learning valuable lessons along the way.

10. Squid Game

The show follows the story of 456 people, who have somewhat failed in their lives, and they are invited to participate in a dangerous survival game called ‘Squid Game’. The winner of the game will take home a huge amount. Despite being quite brutal and repulsive, it’s being called by many a compelling watch.

9. Money Heist

The show follows a hostage situation plotline masterminded by an enigmatic genius and his attempt to pull off a virtually impossible heist with the help of his skilled team.

8. Friends

‘Friends’ is a universally acclaimed sitcom show that revolves around the six friends played by Jennifer Anniston, David Schwimmer, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, and Matthew Perry living together in New York City and the vicissitudes in their inter-personal relationships formed the show’s central theme.

7. The Fame Game

The mystery drama web series features real-life actress Madhuri Dixit as a reel-life superstar Anamika Anand, a mother of two who suddenly disappears leaving no apparent leads. Thereafter, some uncomfortable and unknown truths are revealed during the course of the police investigation. The show also features Sanjay Kapoor and Manav Kaul in important roles.

6. Queen of the South

An adaptation of the Spanish telenovela La Reina del Sur, the series follows the rags-to-riches story of Teresa Mendoza, who is portrayed as an impoverished woman from Mexico. After she learns that her boyfriend has been killed, she is forced to abscond from the drug cartel that he worked for. She runs away to the USA where she builds a formidable drug empire of her own using her survival instincts and street-smart nature.

5. All of Us Are Dead

Based on the webtoon ‘Now at Our School’, it’s a South Korean show where high school students are forced to fight a zombie outbreak in a battle for survival, in order to avoid becoming the infected creatures themselves. Killing or getting killed are the only two options left for them.

4. Twenty Five Twenty One

Set mainly in the year 1998, the show’s plot revolves around how the South Korean financial crisis affected the lives of a young fencing prodigy Na Hee Do (played by Kim So-hyun) and a hard-working man named Baek Yi Jin (Nam Joo-hyuk), whose father’s business has become bankrupt.

3. Business Proposal

The South Korean show follows the story of a woman named Shin Ha-ri, who goes out on a blind date instead of her unwilling friend. However, by a twist of fate, the prospective partner she meets turns out to be the CEO of the company where she works.

2. Elite

It’s a Spanish drama thriller show that is set amidst the backdrop of an elite school called Las Encinas in Spain. Narrated in two timelines, the show’s plot revolves around the glaring disparities between the school’s super affluent students and their working-class teenage counterparts. The show’s fifth season had started streaming from 8th April on Netflix.

1. Bridgerton

Based on Julia Quinn’s novels and set amidst the backdrop of Regency-era London, the show follows the lives of eight siblings who belong to the rich and influential Bridgerton family and their quest to find love in the high society of London.
