Netflix India’s Top 10 Films & Series to Watch in the 28th March Week

For Netflix India’s top ten films list, the top-ranked title has been bagged by Kabir Khan’s 1983 cricket world cup-based sports film ‘83’ starring Ranveer Singh in the lead role. It’s a must-watch film even if you have a slight interest in the game.

While the second spot is bagged by Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar starrer comedy-drama ‘Badhaai Do’. In the third place is the time-travel-based sci-fi flick ‘The Adam Project’.

On the Netflix top ten TV shows front, this week’s top spot is held by the period drama series ‘Bridgerton’. While the second and the third spots are bagged by the South Korean series ‘Twenty Five Twenty One’ and the Indian mystery show ‘The Fame Game’ starring Madhuri Dixit.

TOP 10 MOVIES ON NETFLIX INDIA THIS WEEK

10. Oblivion

Helmed by Joseph Kosinski and set in the year 2077 on post-apocalyptic Earth, the sci-fi actioner was based on the director’s graphic novel of the same name. The film follows a drone repairman Jack Harper (Tom Cruise) who is on the verge of completing a mission to extract the planet’s remaining resources following a destructive alien invasion. However, he begins to doubt his knowledge about the war and his mission after he discovers a crashed spacecraft.

9. Venom: Let There Be Carnage

Helmed by Andy Serkis, the film is the sequel to the 2018 superhero movie ‘Venom’. Tom Hardy reprises his role as the disgraced investigative journalist Eddie Brock/Venom who attempts to revive his career by interviewing the psychotic serial killer Cletus Kasady (played by Woody Harrelson), who eventually transforms into the titular supervillain called Carnage.

8. Men in Black: International

This was the fourth film of the immensely popular Men in Black series which originally starred Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones in the lead roles. In ‘Men in Black: International’, a top MiB agent (Chris Hemsworth) must team up with a rookie agent (Tessa Thompson) to stop shape-shifting aliens from destroying the world. The film also features ‘Taken’ actor Liam Neeson in a pivotal role.

7. Pyaar Ka Punchnama

The romantic comedy movie’s plot revolves around three Noida-based bachelor friends and flatmates Rajat (Kartik Aryan), Nishant (Divyendu Sharma), and Vikrant (Raayo S. Bakhirta). Their single and carefree lives take a drastic turn when they fall for three girls, who try to dominate the boys in their own ways.

6. Sooryavanshi

Sooryavanshi is the fourth movie that belongs to Rohit Shetty’s cop universe film series comprising Singham and Simmba films. Sooryavanshi revolves around the titular cop DCP Veer Sooryavanshi (Akshay Kumar), who heads the Anti-Terrorism Squad, and his attempt to avert a terrorist attack in Mumbai. The film also features Katrina Kaif, Ajay Devgn, Ranveer Singh, and Jackie Shroff in important roles.

5. Black Crab

Set against the backdrop of a war-torn post-apocalyptic world, this Swedish military action thriller features Noomi Rapace in the lead role. The plotline revolves around a group of soldiers who are on a dangerous mission to transport a vital package over a frozen sea that could end the war.

4. Black and Blue

An ex-army rookie policewoman (Naomi Harris) accidentally records the cold-blooded murder of an unarmed drug dealer by corrupt cops on her body cam. Not knowing whom to trust in her own department, she goes on the run. Equipped with irrefutable evidence but with some bad cops on her trail, she races against time to get out of the mess and bring the culprits to justice.

3. The Adam Project

‘The Adam Project’ follows the story of a 12-year-old father-less boy named Adam Reed (Walker Scobell) who finds an injured pilot (Ryan Reynolds), an older version of himself who has crash-landed in 2022 by time-traveling from the future. The two Adam Reeds team up to find their father (played by Mark Ruffalo) in the past, in order to save the future. The film also features Jennifer Garner and Zoe Saldana in important roles.

2. Badhaai Do

Helmed by Harshvardhan Kulkarni, the comedy-drama film revolves around a policeman Shardul Thakur (Rajkummar Rao), and a physical education teacher Sumi Singh (Bhumi Pednekar), and their marriage of convenience to hide their sexual orientation. But things do not go as smoothly as they had expected.

1. 83

The film is about the Indian cricket team’s historic victory at the 1983 cricket world cup. Ranveer Singh essays the role of the Indian cricket team’s legendary captain Kapil Dev, and the film portrays his and his teammates’ incredible journey from being an underdog team to lifting the world cup by beating the formidable West Indians at the Lords Cricket Ground on 25th June 1983.

10. Squid Game

The show follows the story of 456 people, who have somewhat failed in their lives, and they are invited to participate in a dangerous survival game called ‘Squid Game’. The winner of the game will take home a huge amount. Despite being quite brutal and repulsive, it’s being called by many a compelling watch.

9. Friends

‘Friends’ is a universally acclaimed sitcom show that revolves around the six friends played by Jennifer Anniston, David Schwimmer, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, and Matthew Perry living together in New York City and the vicissitudes in their inter-personal relationships formed the show’s central theme.

8. Forecasting Love and Weather

The South Korean series is set in Korea’s national meteorological service KMA and follows the romantic relationship between a hard-working forecaster and her rather unconventional colleague.

7. Inventing Anna

The miniseries is inspired by an article by Jessica Pressler which was published in America’s New York magazine. It follows a journalist’s investigation into a woman named Anna Delvey, who was able to manipulate New York’s affluent class into believing that she is a German heiress.

6. All of Us Are Dead

Based on the webtoon ‘Now at Our School’, it’s a South Korean show where high school students are forced to fight a zombie outbreak in a battle for survival, in order to avoid becoming the infected creatures themselves. Killing or getting killed are the only two options left for them.

5. Eternally Confused and Eager for Love

It’s a coming-of-age comedy-drama series set in an eight-episode format. The show follows the amusing story of an introvert and confused 24-year-old man named Ray (played by Vihaan Samat), who is on a desperate quest to find love. He has an imaginary friend (Jim Sarbh) who invariably misguides him. The show also features Rahul Bose and Suchitra Pillai in important roles.

4. Business Proposal

The South Korean show follows the story of a woman named Shin Ha-ri, who goes out on a blind date instead of her unwilling friend. However, by a twist of fate, the prospective partner she meets turns out to be the CEO of the company where she works.

3. The Fame Game

The mystery drama web series features real-life actress Madhuri Dixit as a reel-life superstar Anamika Anand, a mother of two who suddenly disappears leaving no apparent leads. Thereafter, some uncomfortable and unknown truths are revealed during the course of the police investigation. The show also features Sanjay Kapoor and Manav Kaul in important roles.

2. Twenty Five Twenty One

Set mainly in the year 1998, the show’s plot revolves around how the South Korean financial crisis affected the lives of a young fencing prodigy Na Hee Do (played by Kim So-hyun) and a hard-working man named Baek Yi Jin (Nam Joo-hyuk), whose father’s business has become bankrupt.

1. Bridgerton

Based on Julia Quinn’s novels and set amidst the backdrop of Regency-era London, the show follows the lives of eight siblings who belong to the rich and influential Bridgerton family and their quest to find love in the high society of London. The show’s second season started streaming on Netflix from 25th March.
