The whole project is specifically divided into two parts, the first part will comprise of the movie ‘Arlo the Alligator Boy’ which “will launch Arlo’s journey as he meets a group of misfits who quickly become his new family.”
The second part will launch as a series ‘I ❤️️ Arlo’ after his adventures land him in New York City. The series will feature the journey of Arlo and his newfound crew as they “set up shop in an abandoned seaside neighborhood and help bring it back to life.”
The animated movie musical will be followed by the 20-part series (each episode of 11 min duration), for both kids and families, launching globally on Netflix in 2021.
Both the movie and series will have voice-overs from singer and American Idol contestant Michael J. Talking about ‘Arlo The Alligator Boy’, Ryan Crego says, “The story of Arlo and his friends has been with me for nearly a decade, and I am beyond thrilled to finally have a chance to share his musical journey with the world. Arlo is a character who is so full of hope and overflowing with positivity, even when the odds are stacked against him. That optimism and joy is reflected in every song of the movie and the series, and we can’t wait for audiences around the world to sing along with him.”
Ryan Crego will helm the Netflix project by serving as the executive producer and director of the movie and executive producer and showrunner of the series.
