Kartik Aaryan’s recent blockbuster hit film ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ was performing wonderfully at the box office and is still doing pretty great despite its digital premiere on global streaming giant Netflix last Sunday. But has this 28 days post theatrical digital run trend gone haywire for ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’?
Well we think so certainly! That’s because this OTT release has come as a roadblock in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’s journey to achieving the ₹200cr milestone that would otherwise have been most probably attained by the end of this ongoing week.
The decline in numbers since the start of this week goes on to strengthen this very fact. While the daily collections were coming in crores before the Netflix release (Fri: ₹1.15cr, Sat: ₹2.02cr, Sun: ₹2.51cr), it has now drastically reduced to lakhs (Mon: ₹76 lakhs, Tue: ₹66 lakhs, Wed: ₹57 lakhs) taking the total to ₹183.81 crores.
Going by this trend the ₹ 200 cr mark now seems a distant dream for Anees Bazmee’s ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’. This is because when the film is already available on one’s screens at home or anywhere they wish, people rarely like spending on a movie ticket.
Had the makers opted for a 45 days window rather than the 28 days one, ‘Bhool Bhulaiaya 2’s journey to the ₹200 cr club would have been an easy one. But unfortunately that is a far possibility now as the film’s theatrical run will now be short lived and the box office collections will continue to decline with each passing day.
