Netflix has renewed its popular fantasy dramas Locke And Key and Castlevania for new seasons. The renewal announcements were made on its official social media handles by the streaming platform.
Locke And Key made its debut on Netflix in February 2020, and met with overwhelming success in its first season. Happy with the response to the show, Netflix has thus decided to follow it up with a Season 2.
The fantasy drama is the story of three siblings who become the custodian of a set of magical keys endowed with special powers after the mysterious death of their father. Even as they discover the full power of the keys at their ancestral home Key House, they must fob off a powerful demon who’s after the keys.
In a statement to the media, Netflix said, “Based on the incredible graphic novel from Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez, Locke and Key captivated audiences around the world at every twist and turn. We are so proud to have been part of this show and can’t wait to see all that Carlton Cuse, Meredith Averill, and the entire creative team have in store for season two.”
Along with Locke And Key, Netflix also announced the renewal of its very popular animated series Castlevania, which is perhaps one of the best screen adaptions of a video game ever.
Its beautifully animated action scenes, bewitching character arcs, sharp writing and witty dialogues make it a show that audiences simply love.
It was thus quite an obvious development that Netflix would renew the show for Season 4.
Both shows are likely to return in 2021 with their new seasons.
